Children can be enrolled throughout the entire year, including the summer months, ensuring a flexible registration process. Additionally, transportation services are provided for all qualifying enrolled children, further enhancing accessibility and convenience.

Parents have the flexibility to visit or get in touch with the center for enrollment between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm on weekdays. For those requiring alternative hours, including weekends, they can coordinate with the administration to make suitable arrangements.

In cases where capacity is reached, a waiting list is established. This list is used to notify parents when additional openings become available.

What is a PPEC??

Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) is a non-residential environment where constant medical care is offered to kids with medically-complex situations from birth through age 20.

What is required for a child to be admitted to a PPEC?
  • The child must have a complex medical issue or need rigorous services in the short term after exiting the hospital.
  • The candidates must be below 21 years of age.
  • The child must present a prescription from the caregiving pediatrician.
  • The child must be medically steady at the time of admission.
  • The parent or lawful guardian must give their permission for the child to be enrolled.
  • The child must not show a risk of infection to anybody.

Is my child at risk of getting sick in this environment?

No, they are not. Infection control safety measures and actions are built on safeguarding all of the patients at the facility, as each is regarded as medically delicate. In fact, patients who are sick or have symptoms of a contagious condition are not allowed to attend the center.

How is the food in the PPEC?

We coordinate with the Pediatrician to make a nutrition design to ensure your child eats a balanced diet every day in our center.

What services do we offer?

Our services encompass pediatric nursing care, free transportation, nutritional food program, physical, behavioral, occupational, and speech therapy, rehabilitation therapy, afterschool program, extra-curricular activities, and social services.

Is transportation provided?

Transportation services are offered to and from any part of Lee County everywhere the child is positioned. Notably, the service is 100% covered through Medicaid, and parents don’t need to pay.

Are the children alone in the transport?

Never. The direct support staff from our center always escorts our children.
